While this legendary route is historically well-known for starting and finishing in the beachside community of Port Elgin, this year features an exciting logistical twist: we are starting and finishing in the scenic port city of Owen Sound! This shift delivers an entirely fresh dynamic, setting you up for immediate dramatic vistas and rolling ridge-line riding through the heart of Ontario's stunning Bruce and Grey Counties. Stepping out from Owen Sound, the route travels in a sweeping, beautifully orchestrated counter-clockwise loop. You will trace the edge of the majestic Niagara Escarpment, drop into stunning river valleys, and glide through pristine farmlands before returning to the sound. ### The Journey Breakdown **Owen Sound to Kimberley (0 km – 65 km)** Rolling out from the Tim Hortons in Owen Sound, your journey begins by heading east over the rhythmic topography of the Niagara Escarpment. Keep your eyes open for sweeping panoramic views of Georgian Bay to your left as you navigate toward the spectacular Beaver Valley. You will plunge down into the breathtaking valley basin to reach your first control in the enchanting village of Kimberley.
